Mama’s Gone A-Hunting is a caper curio from 1975. An Australian TV movie featuring the great bung-eyed Gerard Kennedy (Body Melt, Running from the Guns and seemingly every Australian TV show made from the mid-60s). He plays an escaped madman who sets out to steal a rich couple’s baby. Unfortunately the unhinged babysitter, Judy Morris (Razorback, The Plumber, Mother and Son), wants to keep the rug rat for herself. Mama’s Gone A-Hunting is hardly a baby-snatching classic like Raising Arizona, but it does have a few mental moments, like this:
