It dawns on me that in the years I have been sharing posters on Mondo Exploito, I have never given attention to the silent film era, which is a shame because there are some gorgeous examples of design from the 20s to appreciate. This film is about as far from obscure as one can get, but the Russian version of the poster for The General is not widely known while also being one of my all-time favourite designs. The following poster was designed by the great Stenberg Brothers. Everything else speaks for itself.
