I probably don’t need to tell you that the Lone Wolf and Cub film series is amazing. With beautiful swordplay, arterial sprays and Tomisaburô Wakayama’s miserable face, each film is outrageously entertaining. The third in the series, Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart to Hades (1972), or Shogun Assassin 2: Lighting Swords of Death as it was retitled, at first seems a more restrained entry. But that quickly changes towards the film’s finale, as Ogami Itto takes on an entire army.
