I like Eric Stanze. I watched Scrapbook in high school and it made me want to make mean-spirited movies. Stanze has his critics, but I’ve dug most of what I’ve seen from Wicked Pixel Cinema, his production company. Even The Fine Art (1992), an early effort that sits somewhere between a short film and a feature, is quite well made. That said, there’s one unintentionally hilarious moment where Jeremy Wallace, a Wicked Pixel colleague who usually sticks to producing, reacts terribly to a sad piece of information.
