Kazuo Umezu’s Horror Theater takes six of Umezu’s manga stories and adapts them into short films. It is a mixed bag to say the least. There is only one really good entry (Diet), the rest (Snake Girl, The Present, The Wish, House of Bugs) are a bit shit but entertaining enough. And then there’s Death Make. Death Make is atrocious. It’s awful. It’s worse than atrocious and awful. It’s a disaster in every aspect of its production. In a way, perhaps it is a success, because of its horribleness it has stuck in my mind more than any other entries in the Horror Theater series. Below is a brief example that alone cannot do justice to the disgrace that is Death Make.
