When you think of Japanese movie posters – if you think of them at all – you’d probably picture a photo collage with a whole lot of text tossed over it. I love the iconic Japanese style of poster, but not all Japanese posters fall into this category. One of my favourite posters – certainly my favourite Japanese poster – is Hajime Sorayama‘s rendering of Peter Jackson’s Braindead. Sorayama is also responsible for the more famous Naked Lunch poster that features a giant bug and a woman engaged in what could only be hideous coitus hidden under a sheet. His Braindead poster has little to do with the movie, but both its design and beautiful (and creepy) artwork has always impressed me. I want one so bad!
