I am a Disco Dancer!
Jesus Christ. I've had "I am a Disco Dancer" from Disco Dancer stuck in my head on loop for the past week. GET OUT OF MY BRAIN!
Jaani Dushman (1979)
Jaani Dushman features a crazy big cast of Bollywood stars, the music is mostly great, the locations are lavish, and the horror is completely wild. And there's a man wearing a silly monster suit and fangs strangling ladies to death. What more could you want?
Pyasa Shaitan – Indian poster
When I see the poster below, my brain explodes into a fit of desperation telling me, "You have to see Pyasa Shaitan right fucking now."
Finger click fight
Disco Dancer is the most entertaining Bollywood film I've ever seen. It has everything you could ever want in a film: disco dancing, death by electric guitar, incestuous undertones, and fights. The fight in the clip below is a definite highlight.
Junoon (1992)
Junoon's illegitimate inspiration comes from a classic of the horror genre, An American Werewolf in London, and it has just right amount of ludicrous originality to place it among the best Bollywood horror films around.
Worst prank ever
This moustachioed dickhead has to be among the worst heroes in cinema history. Generally, the horror movie prankster has the good sense to quit with the pranks once it becomes apparent that people have actually died. Not Deepak Parashar.
Shower laughs from Veerana
I've spoken about Veerana before on Mondo Exploito, and I have about ten potential clips of the week in waiting from it. Here's a scene that never fails to make me piss myself laughing with its spliced in, nonsensical final shot.
The Terror of the Alsatian Portrait
Veerana is by far the most entertaining Bollywood horror I've seen. One of my favourite moments involves a ridiculous portrait of an Alsatian.
The Birth of the Devil… Bollywood style!
I must confess, I've been really warming to Bollywood horror of late, in particular the films by the great Ramsay brothers.
Bach ke Zara (2008)
Bach ke Zara looks like it could have come out only a couple of years after Sam Raimi's original film. The only giveaway to its production year is the costuming and a horrific, and amazingly out of place, dance number featuring a mud smeared sexy lady and muscle men.
Best phone conversation in a movie. Ever.
Chances are you’ve already seen this video, as it just recently blew the fuck up on reddit. Before you see dupes all over the place, know that HiveFunnies posted it first – a seriously entertaining YouTube channel. I have no clue what film this clip is from, but it is truly amazing…
Bollywood Jaws madness
I haven’t had time to upload a clip today, so I’m going to have to steal one from the internet. Here is the amazing finale of Bollywood’s version of Jaws, Aatank (1996), courtesy of Hivefunnies – a YouTuber who posts some truly fantastic stuff. Review of the full movie soon!
