Biotherapy (1986)
Biotherapy made me wish that more splattery horror films were 35 minutes. Gone are long-winded scenes of padding used to reach the usual 90 minute mark. The film is left with its bare essentials: death and shouting.
Godzilla vs. Gigan - Polish poster
A common complaint about Polish and Czech posters is: "What the hell has this got to do with the movie?" To which I must reply: "Who cares?! The design is amazing. And there's multicoloured stuff coming out of Godzilla's mouth. And there's also a bug."
Drive-In Massacre (1977)
Drive-In Massacre is absolute rubbish and should be unwatchable (and probably is to most proper people), but it's somehow entertaining. Incredibly entertaining.
Under Siege - Ghanaian poster
It's been a while since I've posted a poster from Ghana. It's also been a while since I've posted about Steven Seagal. Let's kill two birds with one hilarious Ghanaian poster.
Giant exploding zit in Slumber Party Massacre II
Sequels don't get much nuttier than Deborah Brock's Slumber Party Massacre II. The film is bursting with dream sequences and hallucinations, none as brilliant as this moment in my opinion...
Le masque de la Méduse (2010)
This is not a film that will win Rollin any new fans. With many references, some of them very blunt, to past work, this is certainly not the Rollin film to begin with, but it is the perfect one to end with.
A Virgin Among the Living Dead - French poster
A Virgin Among the Living Dead being a rather sombre film, this lurid poster isn't exactly the best representation of its content. But who cares?! It's amazing!
The Burning Moon’s exploding head
Who doesn't like a good head explosion?!! People who don't like gory movies, I guess. Uh, well, here's one from Olaf Ittenbach's The Burning Moon. Even better than the exploding melon is the little speech delivered afterwards.
Dawn of the Dead - German poster
What what whaaat?! Here's a poster for Dawn of the Dead I'd never seen before today!
Cave of the Sharks (1978)
Cave of the Sharks begins as an unassuming, hammy action-adventure, but by its ending it's something quite different. I can safely say I've never seen a film like Cave of the Sharks before, and I'm glad it exists.
Hell in a Bottle - Japanese poster
It's rare that I'll post a poster for a film I've not seen, but perusing Wrong Side of the Art I stumbled across this nightmarish piece for a Japanese pinku from Nikkatsu, Hell in a Bottle, and felt it needed to be shared. Bloody hell!
