Robin Bougie shares three XXX posters from Graphic Thrills Volume Two
I've asked Robin to share with us three of his favourite posters from Graphic Thrills Volume Two and give us a bit of a backstory to them.
The Fireworks Woman (1975)
I watched this purely for the Craven connection, but even with a famed and talented director was at the helm, I most certainly did not expect this to be a good porn film. I really, really dug this.
An interview with Westgate Gallery’s Christian McLaughlin
Mondo Exploito interviews the owner of Westgate Gallery, fine purveyors of smutty poster art!
Corruption (1983)
Wow. Corruption is fucking incredible. Dripping with style, the film is shot with atmospheric lighting and beautifully framed images. The pacing is slow, but, with its considered editing, Watkins creates a seriously unnerving tone that seems to give a sad middle finger to 80s corporate culture.
Pornographic kung-fu fight
The Vixens of Kung-Fu had me laughing very, very hard. Seeing its impressive cast of classic porn stars goofily emulating kung-fu moves is quite mind-blowing. The way the film is cut together only makes things more mad.
An interview with Robin Bougie
Dave interviews Robin Bougie, creator of Cinema Sewer and Sleazy Slice, and author of the recently released, Graphic Thrills: American XXX Movie Posters, 1970 to 1985.
