The Cat (1992)
This is about a kung fu space cat fighting an interstellar blob and it was directed by the dude who did Riki-Oh; how do you THINK this is gonna go down?
Secret toilet passageway
I can't believe this is my second clip of the week from Stuart Gordon's Space Truckers. I guess it must be a seminal sci-fi masterpiece after all...
Slow motion silliness in Trancers II
This scene from Trancers II has it all: Tim Thomerson, gunfire, squibs, slow motion stupidity, disintegrating zombie idiots, a cutaway to terrified old ladies, and an awkward one-liner.
Syngenor (1990)
Syngenor centers around water soluble Giger-esque super soldiers being let loose in an office building basement, but the actual point of interest is David Gale playing a weirdo CEO who constantly injects Re-Animator goo into his neck and spends the movie becoming even more insane.
Wang malfunction
Space Truckers is not a well liked film, and it's certainly not Stuart Gordon's finest moment. Still, I'm quite a fan. It has a great cast, solid action, fun effects, and a malfunctioning robot penis. What more could you want?
Anatomia Extinction (1995)
Anatommia Extinction is very much a film of its time portraying claustrophobia and misanthropy in a way only 1990s Japan knew how to deliver.
Rutger Hauer shoots a rat
Rutget Hauer's performance in 1992's action/sci-fi hybrid Split Second is a thing of beauty. He chomps down so much scenery that he can barely contain his Dutch accent. He's extraordinarily entertaining. He also shoots a rat.
