The Case of the Bloody Iris – Italian poster
There's little I like in this world more than sleazy Italian posters for sleazy giallos.
Green Inferno aka Cannibal Holocaust II (1988)
There aren't really any cannibals in Cannibal Holocaust II. It's been a few days since I've seen it so it's starting to feel like a fever dream, but I distinctly remember no on screen cannibalism.
Manhattan Baby – US poster
I imagine most of my fellow Fulci fanatics would agree Manhattan Baby is not a high point in the great goremaster's career. This lacklustre shitter has, however, inspired a lot of great poster art.
TAETER CITY: Take a Tour in the City of Cannibal Dictatorship (2012)
If you're turned off by gore, you're given about three seconds to leave before shit hits the fan. If that's your thing, you've got about 80 minutes of spraying blood and crushed skulls ahead of you.
Compañeros – US poster
This poster is just ridiculous nonsense. Look at that gun! Look at the inexplicable severed head! How could one not be desperate to watch this movie after encountering a poster such as this?
Cannibal Ferox – Czech poster
Skimming Wrong Side of the Art, I came across this BATSHIT FUCKING INSANE poster for Cannibal Ferox. I'm questioning whether this is even real. IS THIS REAL? OR IS THIS SOME AMAZING ELABORATE PRANK?
Bomber – French poster
This poster of a gigantic Bud Spencer punching some chumps with his giant fist is kind of terrifying...
The Man from the Deep River – Italian poster
The joys of trashy Italian poster art is expressed perfectly here with this poster for Umberto Lenzi's The Man from the Deep River (1972) — the film that kicked off the cannibal craze of the 70s and 80s.
One on Top of the Other – US poster
We've featured many posters for Lucio Fulci films on Mondo Exploito. There's something about Fulci's work that inspires great advertisements.
Hansel e Gretel (1990)
It's hard to say whether Fulci at any point sat in the director's chair during the production of this. My guess is no. Though Fulci was not at the top of his game in 1990, his flourishes could still be seen in even his cheapest work. None are apparent here.
I Drink Your Blood – Italian poster
Man, I love this Italian locandina for foamy-mouthed 70s classic I Drink Your Blood!
