The Zero Boys (1986)
I say definitely give The Zero Boys a shot. It's a neat take on slashers, survival horror, and action that, judging by the fact that I hadn't heard of it in the twenty-five years I've walked this Earth, gets overlooked way too often.
Black Christmas – US poster
I had not seen this poster for Black Christmas before today, and it made my jaw drop a little.
To All a Goodnight (1980)
How did America's favourite cinematic rapist come to direct a Christmas slasher? How the fuck did this happen?! I don't know, but after watching the film, I feel that perhaps it shouldn't have happened.
A handy quip from Dr. Giggles
In amongst the lifeless and bloodless Scream rip-offs, there's the occasional slice of 90s horror fun. Like Dr. Giggles. Doctor-themed one liners and puns galore, Dr. Giggles is good dumb fun.
Unmasked Part 25 (1988)
Unmasked Part 25 needs to be dredged out of its pit of obscurity and worshipped as a cult classic. I say this a lot, but I really mean it this time: this is a legitimate must see, so see it!
Don’t Open Till Christmas (1984)
Don't Open Till Christmas is both mind-numbing and exhilarating. It is an incomprehensible train-wreck trapped in a frustrating dream that goes nowhere, but with all the sleaze, boobs, and bloodied Santa outfits, I forgot to care.
Black Christmas – US poster
The original US one-sheet for Black Christmas is a cracker. It wraps one of the creepiest moments from the film in jarring Christmas cheer. The tagline is also perfect: If this picture doesn't make your skin crawl... it's on TOO TIGHT. YES!
