Father’s Day – Japanese chirashi
While in Tokyo last year, I watched Manborg in a mainstream Shinjuku cinema. Unfortunately, we left the country before we could see the hilarious Father's Day, but I nabbed a small chirashi sized poster from the rack of flyers.
Confessions of Panties – Italian poster
Enzo Sciotti's art for Les confidences d'une petite culotte's Italian poster is bloody incredible. I don't know much about this French porn flick, but if Brigitte Lahaie is in the cast then SIGN ME THE FUCK UP!
Godzilla – Pakistani poster
Okay, this is easily the most ridiculous poster in my collection — an enormous and absolutely outrageous Pakistani poster for 1984's Godzilla!
Africa Anal – Italian poster
While browsing the amazing Westgate Gallery collection, I came across a poster that made me laugh very hard: AFRICA ANAL! I have no clue where this movie is from or when it was made, but I love, love, LOVE its obnoxious poster!
Seven Blood-Stained Orchids – Italian poster
Just a nice traditional Italian giallo poster this week. Lenzi was a master of his craft and the below poster is a perfect summation of the giallo film poster aesthetic.
Prince of Darkness – Thai poster
Ah, Prince of Darkness. Probably my favourite John Carpenter flick. The thumping, hypnotic score, its grim tone, Donald Pleasence — it's so, so great. Also great is this Thai poster for Prince of Darkness, or, as they've opted to call it, Prince of Darkess.
Cat Sick Blues – Australian teaser poster
This week's poster of the week is quite self-serving, but I am so excited, there's nothing else I could think of doing. Some of you may be aware that recently, several of the Mondo Exploito contributors have been involved in a Kickstarter campaign.
Cara a Cara aka Face to Face – Brazillian poster
This beautiful poster for 1967's Cara a Cara was created by Brazilian design luminary, Eduardo Muñoz Bachs. Bachs was a self-taught designer and children's book illustrator who provided his idiosyncratic style to over 2000 movie posters.
Virgin Witch – US poster
There's not a lot to say about this poster for 1972's Virgin Witch. Either you love it, or you probably arrived at Mondo Exploito by mistake. It encapsulates early 70s exploitation.
Ghost Cat of Arima – Japanese poster
I've watched my fair share, but there is one ghost cat film I just cannot find anywhere: Arima neko. I have no idea whether the film is actually any good. But I love its poster — one of my favourites from my collection.
Putney Swope – US poster
The Putney Swope poster is strangely shocking, amusing and above all, graphically compelling. Beautiful simplicity executed with perfection.
The Monster Squad – Australian poster
For some reason, Australia was lucky enough to get its own unique poster advertising The Monster Squad. As far as I know, this artwork has not been used anywhere else. Even more odd is that the artwork is rather fantastic.
