I won’t be posting on Mondo Exploito for a little while after tonight, so I wanted to go out on a bang. According to my eyes, the below represents the sort of bang I wanted. “Hukkunud Alpinisti” Hotell is an Estonian sci-fi film from the late 70s with a poster that makes the designer inside me weep with joy. It sports a very simple concept executed with great restraint, which provokes a true sense of mystery and dread. The black, purple and white colour scheme locks the design into a subdued place, which prevents one from imposing overwrought interpretations. I really love this poster.
