I was so torn between two clips from Future Cops aka Super School Overlord (1993) that I decided to just post both. Future Cops, directed by the masterfully idiotic Wong Jing, is an unofficial adaptation of Street Fighter. It’s filled with lengthy scenes of dodgy dialogue, lady-ogling, and piss gags. Its action scenes would probably only amount to a handful minutes. But hey, it’s probably a better adaptation than the US attempt, right? It’s also, in all its shitty glory, really entertaining even when nothing is really happening.

Below are two clips that heinously misrepresent the vast majority of Future Cops. They are action-packed, shot rather well, and most likely not directed by Wong Jing (he used to let his second unit directors handle the action scenes). First up is an explosive setpiece capped off with a stellar cruddy joke…


And next, something for the Street Fighter fan in us all: an utterly out-of-left-field cameo from Blanka. Or at least a guy in a cheap Blanka outfit with green paint smeared over his goofy face…
