I imagine most of my fellow Fulci fanatics would agree Manhattan Baby is not a high point in the great goremaster's career. This lacklustre shitter has, however, inspired a lot of great poster art.
One on Top of the Other – US poster
We've featured many posters for Lucio Fulci films on Mondo Exploito. There's something about Fulci's work that inspires great advertisements.
Hansel e Gretel (1990)
It's hard to say whether Fulci at any point sat in the director's chair during the production of this. My guess is no. Though Fulci was not at the top of his game in 1990, his flourishes could still be seen in even his cheapest work. None are apparent here.
Butt-biting vampire
I assumed the outrageous image of Lando Buzzzanca sinking his teeth into a naked lady's ass found on the Dracula in the Provinces poster was purely a bit of lurid false advertising. Having now seen the film, I can happily say that assumption was wrong.
The Devil’s Honey – Italian poster
Long before I watched The Devil's Honey, I had come across its extraordinarily sleazy poster. From the perky nips showing through an open dressing gown to the beautifully painted salivating dog, this is pretty much perfect 80s locandina trash.
Kid murder dream in Fulci’s Voices from Beyond
Last year I reviewed Fulci's Voices from Beyond. In the review, I mentioned the film's jaw-dropping opening where a child is viciously murdered in an insane dream sequence. I felt it was worthy of its own Clip of the Week post.
Conquest (1983)
Conquest, for all its flaws, is actually kind of a good film. It's entertaining and certainly never boring. For Fulci fans I'd say that this movie is surprisingly essential if only to see the man's unique style in an unexpected setting.
Voices from Beyond (1991)
Fulci's latter day efforts hold a special place in his filmography; their low budgets and hazy photography pushing them into an entirely new realm of weird. The best of Fulci's final work is his penultimate effort: Voices from Beyond.
What the dickens is this?!
I watched City of the Living Dead for the billionth time this week. While it's an amazing film and among the best from Fulci's golden era of gooey horror, it does contain some fantastically stiff and silly dialogue.
The Psychic – US poster
Seven Notes in Black, known in the US as The Psychic, is among Lucio Fulci's best work, and this beautiful poster certainly does the film justice.

Best worst ending to a movie ever?
I'm a big, big Lucio Fulci fan, but even I can admit that he's made a few stinkers, the worst of which being The Sweet House of Horrors.
